Spec is easy to find, just look in the HP8656A manual under option 001

Schematic wanted !!!

The heater or heater control was defective inside this one,
unit was hard to open due to glued tight !
easy to repair one decoubling capacitor on heater voltage shorted and compleetly burned out,
wire melted over.

Voltage control add modification, see pictures,
heater ground moved to case ground to free the pin,
resistor from fine trimmer moved to free the voltage control signal,
green wire added to pin in case,
now a 0-5V will give perfect regulation of fine tune phase
